At Arlington Acres, we believe every love story deserves a celebration as unique as the couple behind it. Maddie and Lucas’s wedding on May 4th, 2024, was the perfect blend of rustic charm, heartfelt faith, and playful Star Wars-inspired touches (May the 4th be with you!). Even with a little spring rain, their day was nothing short of magical.
From Middle School Friends to Lifelong Partners
Maddie and Lucas’s story began long before they fell in love. They met in middle school, where they became fast friends, sharing classes and extracurriculars. Life took them in different directions after high school—Maddie heading to Bowling Green State University and Lucas to the University of Cincinnati.
Years later, in 2021, their paths crossed again. Late-night phone calls turned into a coffee date in April 2022, and the connection was instant. What started as catching up quickly grew into a long-distance relationship filled with weekend visits, virtual dates, and countless road trips. By July 2023, Lucas knew Maddie was the one and proposed under the enchanting canopy of Sugarcreek Metropark’s Osage Orange Tree trail.
A Cozy Celebration in Our Historic Barn
When May 4th arrived, so did the rain—but that didn’t dampen the joy of Maddie and Lucas’s wedding day. Arlington Acres’ historic barn provided the perfect backdrop for their Christian ceremony, creating a warm and intimate setting as the rain softly fell outside.
The ceremony was deeply meaningful, with communion as a central part, reflecting the couple’s faith and shared commitment. The barn’s rustic charm, paired with their serene sky blue and navy color palette, brought their vision to life.
A First Look Filled With Emotion
One of the most unforgettable moments of the day was Maddie and Lucas’s “first look.” In the quiet of the barn, Lucas turned to see Maddie for the first time in her wedding dress, and the emotions were palpable. It was a private, tender moment that set the tone for the rest of their day.
Later, as Maddie walked down the aisle, the love between them was undeniable. Their smiles and happy tears lit up the room, creating a moment their guests will never forget.

With their wedding date falling on May 4th—Star Wars Day—Maddie and Lucas couldn’t resist adding a few playful nods to the galaxy far, far away. From Lucas’s Star Wars-themed cufflinks to subtle decor accents, these touches brought a fun and personal element to their celebration.
